completely confused...

Okay...so its a 1980 KZ750G, and I had the bike running a few weeks ago. At the time I had no spark and I sanded the points down and the bike started up. Just in case I bought a new kit for a condenser and the points and installed those....now the bike won't start again. Replaced with the old parts and still nothing. The engine cranks but no spark. I did notice that the wire coming from the coil into the points would spark, so I have power at the coils....any suggestions?

Possibly point contacts need better cleaning.

Try pulling a business card between contacts while holding contacts snugly closed against business card.

Would also visibly inspect spark quality while cranking engine over with plug removed and held against engine head.

Make sure you installed the wires in their correct places. Perhaps you switched the wire locations? Also, make sure your gap is correct one more time. Check the simple stuff. If it was working before you installed new components, you must have made a mistake somewhere. It happens to all of us
