When the motor is at 4,000 RPM the volt meter on the bike reads 14 volts but handheld meter connected to the battery reads less 12 volts. At idle the bikes volt meter reads about 12 volts and a regular multimeter at the battery reads 12 volts or less. Reving the bike raises the volt meter on the bike to 14 volts but no change to the battery with a volt meter.
At what point is the built-in volt meter connected to read the bike changing but the charge is not reaching the battery?
I replaced the battery and voltage regulator but the voltage at the batterey is 12 volts or less.
Did anyone else have a problem like this and what should I check?
