I'm in the process of a frame off total restoration of an 80 KZ550 A1. I have the wiring harness back in along with the fuse holder bracket, turn signal relay, etc. My problem is that for the life of me I cannot figure out where the starter relay and a couple of connectors go. If anyone has this bike would you mind shooting a couple of photos under each side cover to help me. I have the Clymer, and the OEM illustrated parts manual but neither help. Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated.

Sorry, do not have a camera, but I have a '81 KZ550. If yours is the same as mine, the relay goes underneath the fuse box. The rubber mounting is made so that it just slides into place. The connectons are relatively easy, you should have one male and female connector for the small wires. I don't think it matters which terminals you use for the two big wires, since both wires carry positive current. Hopefully, yours is just like mine and I apologize if it is different. Maybe someone will be able to take a picture for you.

All fixed. Was using the wrong relay. Found the original tucked away in a spare parts box. Thanks for your help!
