I just ordered the Dyna points eliminator for my 78 650. Didnt want to go big money on a full dyna with coils and all, just the points eliminator electronic pickups.

so what can expect to see when its all installed and first fired up??? noticeably smoother?

After installing (DO NOT use the blue connecter supplied, solder that connection!) and timing my Dyna S, I was amazed at how fast my 650 fired up. I used to say "check this out honey!" as the bike fired up within two revolutions. She just rolled her eyes and walked away muttering "that's nice dear". I had also installed new carb boots, rebuilt carbs, plugs, Andrews coils, WG mod, etc, so your results may vary. :)

I installed a Dyna S, Dyna 3ohm coils, new plug wires this winter and just started it this past weekend for the first time. I found it ran smoother and throttle response was much better.

Installation is a breeze, even for a electrical idiot like me :) Timing is easy as well.

Now keep in mind that I also adjusted the valves and cleaned the carbon off the pistons and head so I'm sure this helped as well. I already had the coil mod done last year.

So far I'm very pleased though.

I've got the Dyna on 3 650s. To be honest i could tell no difference in starting or running, but the great thing is you don't have to constantly fiddle with it like points so well worth it just for that. Also did the coils, saw no improvement there either so just went back to stock on the coils.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
