I just bought a 78kz1000 that was used for drag. The previous owner removed, cut or unhooked everythingnot needed for a drag bike. Can anybody tell me wher I can get a diagram to rewire this thing? HELP!!!

On my 750, the little owners manual booklet that went under the seat had a complete schematic in it. The factory service manuals always have one too, I got one off ebay for mine on a CD for about $10.

Check Filebase under KZ Information (in the green ribbon toward top of screen), scroll down to year, then bike model.

There should be found an on-site wiring digram for the particular model.

Good Luck! :)

Or you can go the easy route and get a new one from Jeff at Z1. I think they are around $100 and ready to plug in.

I bought a aftermarket new harness but the original harness and wire have been slaughtered so I'm afraid I will be lost without some kind of diagram

Sandrone, Imho, any time there is evidence of wire harness mod.s its cheaper in the long run to replace w/new if it's an affordable option.and even then, a good (preferably Blown-up) schematic is smart. In my projects, even a virgin harness gets completly unwrapped, inspected cleaned & ohmed. after carberation, wiring is the most common prob. with older bikes. and trying to trouble shoot along side the road sucks. my 2 cents G
