I cut up a black ball point pen to use as a spacer.


Err, I mean I had a machine shop in Japan source some rare period correct nylon stock.... they turn it down with tooling imported from France. The finished product was carried to me by a samurai. Total cost was less than 1,000.

good to see you up and mobile how does it feel that first ride and hows the bike running.

After 6x RPM's I was screaming! I am pissed I didnt buy this bike years ago. The highlight had to be a suzuki crotch rocket who thought he could take me... Once I hit 2nd, he had no chance!
Got some kinks to figure out... the speedometer went out on me when I was riding half way through the day, and the steering wobbles pretty bad, seemes especially bad on right hand turns (steering bearings??). The engine also has a little rattle, which I havent pinpointed. I need to check the shims and do some more maintenance. Weather forecast: 9 days of snow/rain/cold weather... aka: a chance for me to get all this squared away.

the steering could be from misadusted shocks check to see if the pre load adjusters are the same on both shocks or improperly adjusted steering head bearings or bad ones or it could be from tire pressures or possibly swingarm bushing wear. see lots of things can cause the same sort of symptoms but nice to hear it goes hard. the speedo cables if not lubed properly can twist off inthe housing also one other thing to look at with your wobble problem might be wheel bearings give them a shake and see how they feel.
