PLEASE HELP!! ignition problems was created by Mpls ugly
So my problem is pretty simple but im too nervous im going to screw something up. Short story is i lost my key and i found a place to re-key my bike all i have to do is take in my ignition. Heres my problem i dont know how to take it out! This is something id like to be delicate about and everyone here seems to know what there doing so any help anyone wants to give would be greatly appreciated.

Remove the headlight mount bolts,put a towel or padding on the front fender, lower the headlight housing, and then remove the two allen screws holding the ignition switch. Make a diagram of where the wires go for reassembly.

Look for the key number on the ignition. Sometimes it's right beside the key hole, other times it may be on the side or back.
With this number, I or another Locksmith can cut a key.
No need to re-key it.

The key number should match with one of these series:

Kawasaki Key Code Series

So if myself or another member where to go to a locksmith or a webite similar to your signature URL address with a number such as from your list that matches our ignition switch we culd get a key cut.... :ohmy:

Now, from this hypothetical site of course.....

Hypothetically speaking, what would this cost approximately including shipping....

Boy, I wish I knew someone who was a lock smith.... in Canada.... but we're not allowed to discuss such matters os good thing this is all hypothetically speaking..... :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

I took an ign. switch to a locksmith he charged $15.00.to cut a new key.

got the ignition out. found a shop to cut. good to go. Even had 2 extras made juuuust in case. thanks again
