A couple years ago I had really good luck finding 35W halogens (H3 and H4) on ebay cheap. Those bulbs are still working too, so apparently they weren't total crap. Don't remember the company, but it was based in China (as soon will be everything :) ).

Here's some 35w H4's and the price looks good. Never heard of the company, though.

Random thoughts, Believe H4 is a discription for bulb physical type. IE; 3 blade circular base halogen type. have seen them in many different filament configurations. Yamaha fz's used 35/35. in dual applications, in the day 55/100 were common, and were used by those who needed serious light. a couple things to check. charge rate at batt. (low and high), Heat. I've seen distorted lenses from prolonged use, and draw. the wireing at both h.bar switch and couplers were disigned for much lower draws. consider a relay, handlebar switches are pricy.,luck G

The websites www.rallylights.com and www.the12volt.com both sell heavy duty automotive relays and how to wire them.

Three websites for electrical supplies are:
1. www.easternbeaver.com (funny name, good stuff)
2. www.waytekwire.com
3. www.delcity.net
