Well- You can do it a couple of ways. Retro-fit or custom. Mine is Custom. Retro-fit just means that you stick in a couple of LED replacement bulbs and call it quits. This will have one major drawback, Due to the fact that LEDs do not reflect to the rear, the reflectors in the unit are going to be useless. You will most likely wind up with two bright spots and that will be all. The custom route is a different story, as you can tell by the picture it works quite well. I modified a couple of automotive tail lites to do the job. Yes I said couple. since I bought a pair I modified both. These will fit into the later housings such as found on the GPZ or CSR or LTD. It cost me about $150 each to do. You also have to modify the housing holding the sockets by removing them and plugging up the holes installing a new wire harness and wire them in. You can learn more in my thread,

This is easier than you think....
I have a Radii integrated tail light/turn signal unit and you don't need load resistors and all that in most products.... As mentioned by the others, yes, LED draws minimal current (load) where the OEM KZ turn signal relays will recognize this as a burned out bulb...
Simple resolution, Autozone Tridon EP-35 turn signal/flasher relay, ~ $10.
works just fine....

Here's how I wired mine in....

I installed a 1157 cluster bulb and got a clear lens for my Z1 from Jeff Z1E. I have not messed with my turn signals yet, so I am listening to everyone on this one.

Be careful. I have tried some of the "cluster" bulbs and they were not bright enough for a brake light in daylight, I ended up chucking them.
The best and brightest bulbs which I ended up going to are the 3W Luxeons. They are actually a little brighter than stock lights and are very visible.

I would like to put LED turn signals on my KZ, but what should I worry about when changing over to LED. because I plan on using cluster lights also for the brake lights.

This is actually very simple. I replaced my brake/tail light bulb with an drop in replacement LED bulb and changed all my turn signals to LED. All I had to do was replace the turn signal relay with an electronic one which I found at Kragen's for $10.00. Everything works great.
