Serious electrical problems!
20 Feb 2009 21:15
Ok....So awhile back I figured out that my stator went bad, so I ordered a new. Today is was very nice outsite, and i decided why not go ahead and try to install it. Well after I got everything off, the hex bolts wont come off....I've tried just about everything I know how too. What do i do, so I can get the stator off?
Also...I am wanting to add LED brake lights, and turn lights to my bike. Also the head light modulator, and HID lights for the bike. Can my stator handle that?

ok don't panic just take a drill bit one size bigger than the shank of the bolt and drill the heads off then pull your stator off then take a pair of vice grips and wind out the rest of the bolt happens all the time

I thought about that very quickly....Let me see what I have as far as bits...If I cant do that...Then I will take my die cutter to it....So do you think that my stator can power those accesories?

I use a small chisle and hammer and turn the screw by hitting it at an angle like you would unscrew a screw
can't say on the lights but I would think it takes less juice to run them

sorry about not answering your other question right away but if that is the only extra electrical accseoresies that you have installed on the bike your charging system shoud have no problem running them if you have doubts the new style of gel cell batterys are smaller then the wet cell batterys so you can get one that is comparble in size the has a higher amp hour rating so the battery would have a higher reserve capacity so your charging system wouldn't have to work as hard.

I have this problem with bolts on the stator cover. After breaking a bunch of bolts I realized if I heat up the stator cover around the bolt it practically turns out by hand.

Well i wonder if that would work for actually removing the stator? Instead of drilling them out...If it will turn just a little bit with some heat...?
