One coil goes to 1-3 the other too 2-4. Coil fires two cylinders at once. When it fires 1 on compresion the 3 is on exhaust, and vice versa.

Top right image...

The left side pickup is for cylinders 1 &* 4 to the coil that is installed on the left side under the tank...

The factory shop manual on my 82 GPZ1100 B2 shows the left coil firing plugs 1&4 and the right coil 2&3 .

This is numbered left to right while sitting on the seat.

Makes no matter as long as the left coil goes to 1&4 and right coil 2&3.

Both leads fire simultaneously from a coil with dual plug wires.

Be sure both plug wires from one coil attach to spark plugs for outside cylinders #1 and #4. And that both plug wires from the other coil attach to spark plugs for inside cylinders #2 and #3.

Coils on the large fours are usually mounted with the left-side coil firing both outside cylinders and the right-side coil firing both inside cylinders.

Left-side means shift-lever side of bike. Right-side means rear brake pedal side of bike.

Good Luck! :)
