Electric Tach for a KZ650
03 Nov 2008 17:38
Is there anywhere I can get a stock look electronic tach for my bike that I can hook up to my dyna? I want to retain stock instruments with my GPz cams installed.

Will a Redline tach and speedo for a Z1 fit on my 650?

I like the looks of that tach, I bet you can make it fit fine. You may have to adapt a bracket somehow...Hooking it up electrically shouldn't be a big deal either. The good thing is the redline is 9k, just like a 650.

Yeah I think I'm a get one. It should fit, if the Kawi parts diagrams are any indication, a KZ1000 and KZ650 use the same rear cover, so that means size wise they're the same, so it'll fit, I'll drill a hole or two if I have to.
My redline is going up haha, APE springs will take care of any float, but I just want a stock look tach, I want my bike to be a bit of a sleeper, stock look with big speed.

Yeah it will fit, see:
www.z-power.co.uk/merchantmanager/produc..._33&products_id=1795
They come from PMC in Japan ( these ones anyway, but they probably supply redline too)
Here's that link, they have some great stuff:

Nice, thanks cherry. I havent had the chance to get all the way through the z-power parts for my bike, what a long list. Some cool stuff on there, like those wave rotors, pretty darn cool.

Yeah for sure. I found a really nice looking exhaust on Wemoto. Called a Marshall Deeptone. Converted with shipping only came to $390 CAD. Pretty good price, I'm trying to find a distributor in Canada.
I may start saving for a set of z-power rotors, looks lighter and way better than stock. I'll probably just end up taking mine down a mm or so and drilling them. Properly too, not like those guys on eBay with half the rotor drilled out.

Depends on the look you want, the vance and hines is nice looking and not too expensive, I've been looking at one by a company called Misty (Z-power distribute them in the UK, and they get them through PMC in Japan) it looks like the old Yoshimura pipe.
Don't get me wrong the Marshall is ok, but its not that loud a pipe if thats what you're after, I just wasn't overly impressed by it overall, its at the cheaper end of the exhaust market over here.

I'll probably just end up with a MAC in the long run, I kind of want flat black and dont wanna spend twice the money for a Kerker. Of course, I wont be buying it until April, so maybe I'll justify it then!
