Buy the small chrome fan guards that go in front of them. Worth the extra few bucks.:laugh:no prob, oh and be mindful of the blades i lost a nail on one :S it's what happens when you try changing comp parts with those blades running.
BTW: those fans usually run on DC motors which have a solid state controller inside that regulates speed and limits current in case the fan is blocked (stalled). I don't think those controllers will like getting too hot?

i want to mount it behind steering head gusset right above/front of cylinder head.
By coincidence, I used to design cooling systems for electronic equipment.
I can't help but wonder if that small fan would actually do anything? In electronic systems, those fans are designed to deal with power dissipation of maybe ten or twenty Watts. A bike engine is probably dissipating thousands of Watts or more.
