1982 kz 1000 speedo question

I have an 82 kz 1000 j model. It has a non working electric speedo on it. I want to change it out to a cable driven speedo. Can I use the cable drive from the front wheel of any kz 1000? Or is there a kit for changing the over to cable driven?
Thanks for any help.

I have had luck with the ratios being same with various japanese gauges and wheel speedo drives.

does the wheel have a place for it, under a spacer ?

close inspection and research on buykawasaki.com

Check your wiring between the wheel sensor and the plug in the headlight shell. I have had two bikes with inop speedos fixed by fixing broken wires in this harness. There are speedo sensors on ebay right now....chris3

I am wanting to do away with the electric speedo. I have just completed chopping the bike and would like a very small speed on it.
Thanks
