I don't think any of the J motor variations had a redline at 10K rpm. Most of the 903/1015cc variations had a redline of either 9K rpm or 8.5K rpm. I would guess the gauges came off a smaller bike; perhaps a 550? Maybe one of the 550 owners could chime in on their redline. I had a GPz550 and the redline was definitely higher than on the larger bikes but it was 30 years ago and I can't recall. wg
