KZ750 starter clutch
17 Aug 2008 15:24
I just picked up an 82 KZ750 twin. It will turn over for a few seconds and then make a grinding noise. I'm told this is the starter clutch. Is there a how-to on removaland rebuild for this? I've tried searching and I can't find anything. Thanks in advance for any info,
A.J.

You did a search and got nothing? What search terms did you use? This topic is one of the most discussed points about the 750 twin...

How about this:
1.) take off cover
2.) take off left-handed-thread bolt on crank
3.) remove rotor with puller
4.) remove starter clutch assembly
5.) throw starter clutch assembly in trash
6.) reassemble
7.) use kick start

Iv'e tried kicking it, I just don't have enough ass to turn it over fast enough. Where can I get a rebuild kit for it? I wouldn't mind it being kick only though if I knew I could start it:( . I can kick start my 76 750 twin though. Weird.
