coil mod on a 1100 spectre

So i was thinking of performing this coil mod on my bike as the voltage at the coils is only 10.5 volts. I think this is what is causing hard starting when warmed up. Plugs are dry and kinda sooty but not bad. Anyhow, I got everything together to perform the mod but I cannot locate the yellow/red wire in the harness. Am i not looking deep enough into it, are all the kz models the same or is the spectre different.

Follow the 2 hot coil wires back to a dual plug connector, the wire may be pink I think, not sure. Thats the wire you need to cut. Electronic wiring isnt yellow & black like the points models. Id tell you the rest of my conversion but I havent tried to start it yet so Im not sure its right. Im putting a factory electronic steup with the coil mod on my Z1. I looked at my 80 KZ1000 LTD and its a pink wire

It will be a while to see if it work or not, Put a battery in , gas in the tank, turned petcock on & gas is pouring out the connectors between carbs
