Converting Z1 w/KZ1000 from points to factory electronic, need advice

Im converting my 73 Z1 with a 77 KZ1000 engine over from points to 81 factory IC Ignitor ignition w/pulser. Doing WG coil mod at same time. Need any tips on timimg this setup and wiring problems I may run into. I have the complete running setup, coils & wiring from the 81, its a non resistor type. Not much room like a later model either thinking of going under the starter realy or where chain oiler went. I read someone mentioning tips on timing this deal a while back and sure could use them. Is this deal just staic timed or can you use a light on it ? Thanks for any help on this. Id kill for a wiring diagram.:S

I should have stated that differently. I have the wiring diagram for both bikes. I meant a drawn up one with the WG coil mod hooked to from the Z1 wiring to the 81 factory electronic ignition. Thanks anyway

Or just get a dyna and not have to worry about all the extra work.

I dont have the whole complete wiring harness and I live on SS and disability. I have a Dyna S & Dyna coils on my big motor bike but really cant afford to do anything other then what Im trying to do. I dont need options, I need help. If I cant get any I'll figure it out eventually, I just thought maybe someone could shorten the learning curve

I don't believe you can time the ignition when converting to electronic ignition, at least not with out grinding some slots in the pickup mounts, nor should there be any need to.

The pickups (pulsing coils) should plug into the igniter with no problem, but the hassle is figuring out which wires to connect to the igniter. There will be a ground wire, a +12V wire, and two wires to the coils.

I have a manual for the 81 1000 and can tell you which wires go where on the igniter if needed.
