Starter bearings, bushings. Pulling, Pushing.

I've pulled the starter apart and want to replace the bushings and bearings with the ones that came in the rebuild kit.

Can I stop by the local Norther Tool store and pick up the tool I need to get these things (1, 3, 4) out and ram the replacements in? I'm willing to spend about $35.00.

Also what is that pin at #2, and should I just leave it be? I hope I don't have to drill that out to get the shaft out and replace the bearing and seal.

I tried to knock out the shaft at #4 with a block of wood and a hammer but it didn't seem to move right away so decided to ask about how to do it right.
