igniter or pick up bad?????

Well I tried to slot my pick up coil plate to get a little retard in my timing to try and cure my detonation issues, took everything off the plate enlarged the holes, put back on and runs a little better but I still think I need a little more, so i take it back apart and make the slots a little longer, and now no spark and no run!!! checked the coils they have juice going to them, pick up coils both have about 450 ohms as per clymer, so im thinking i need a new igniter, or should I just go with a dyna S, I already have the dyna 3 ohm coils.

Its turning over just fine, I'm leaning more twards the ignighter, and think I'll just replace the whole thing with a dyna set up.

When you slotted the holes, did you take the magnets and pulsers off the timing plate? If so , it's possible you put the magnets on wrong. I have a thread here somewhere showing how to put the magnets back on correctly.

Thanks loudhvx, it was the magnet, I was able to find your pics and description of how they are installed, bike started right up!!!
