left switch assembly question
17 Jun 2008 13:07
Hi all,
i got this left assy the other day from ebay:
and was wondering what the switch next to the lo high beam is (pic 01)
it states:
M
TURN
A
manual and automatic turn signals?
would be wicked that it would actually work like that
make a move to the right, turnsignals go on
the second piccie is that wierd bulge on the lower part (red dots round it for reference) anyone got an ida what that should be? i never seen that one.
I just bought this one from ebay for the hi-lo switch as mine was broken.. but maybe i can use the whole item.
There are also 2 wire bunches coming from it (on my bike there is only one) anyone got any ideas to that one aswell?
thanks,,
yggy

I just had my switch apart this weekend, Looks just like that. Yes the switch is for auto turn signal disable. There is a white wire that actuates an electro magnet (the large piece on the bottom). Unfortinately for you there is a seperate box that signals when.
Not sure about the two sets of wires, mine was one big bundle. Signals (too many to remember), Horn (brown+ and black-), and the auto disable (white)
Oh, and after cleaning and greasing the auto disable works perfectly. No more riding miles with the signal on anymore

Looked closer at your second pic, looks like you have an additional button next to the horn. Mine was a blank marked pass. I assumed it was for flasing the highbeams but dont really know. Could be your other set of wires. Pull it apart, it's not difficult to track what wire goes where.
