LEFT SIDE TURN SIGNALS - NOT BLINKING / RIGHT SIDE IS FINE
31 May 2008 22:32
:S :S :S I HAVE replaced the bulbs.
I have checked the ground wires.
I have replaced the fuses.
I have pulled the switch and inspected it.
The left side turn signals are dead, nothing.
I am losing the battle. It could be the switch.
Does anyone know what else could be wrong?
How can I test the switch to be sure?
Any advice is welcome.:S

I don't have your schematic, but if it's wired like mine:
+12V feed line goes into the flasher unit (a round silver thinmg with one wire in and one out). The OUT wire from the flasher goes to the center terminal of the switch.
The switch selects which set of bulbs (left or right) gets the +12V from the flasher.
Get a meter and check:
1) 12V into the switch.
2) 12V out of the switch on each side as the switch is moved to the left or right position.
If you do have 12V coming from the switch on the 'dead" side, the wiring to the bulbs is open.
If you don't see 12V coming out of the switch on the dead side (but you do have 12V into the switch), the switch is hosed.
