Wiring harness
07 May 2008 08:29
I have an 83 LTD 550 that has alot of electical problems so I purchased a wiring harness to try and remedy problem. Does anyone know where I can get a wiring diagram? I consider myself a decent mechanic but I have never done a complete rewiring, any pointers?

For some reason John's link didn't work for me. Let's see if mine works.

Well it didn't. Let's try it another way using the URL tags.

And this one is a color diagram for an 81, found here on KZrider. It's the first pdf.

I put a new wiring harness into my CB550 last year. It was a lot easier than I expected. I almost didn't need the wiring diagram. Just take it slow and do a section at a time; rear end, then under the seat, then under the tank, etc. Remove a wire from the old harness, connect it to the correct place on the new harness, then go to the next wire. By following this procedure I had almost no problems when complete. My electrical problems were solved and the old girl fired right up. Good luck.
