Not what was requested, but thinking it might be helpful, here's a link which includes a pic of the points plates following removal from a 1976 KZ900-B1 LTD.

When installed on the bike underneath the points cover, the pair of capacitors is on the bottom.

Good Luck! :)

Here's the 1978 KZ200 ignition diagram from Kawasaki.com. Is it possible that the advancer unit #24 is installed 180 degrees off? Or the locating pin broken? Or some other incorrect fitment of the advancer unit?

Good Luck! :)

also i just want to get it runing again.....i want to soo bad.it has very strong spark but i got the coil off a honda 125 cl. idk what year or anything but it works. i can swap the wires and it will still work the same...... one wire is black and the other gray i think. so i just use the black as the black one and the gray as a red wire. its wiered that i switch them around it still works the same. kill switch and all. hmm . but aNYWAYS i also need to get all new front brakes..well since there isnt any accept the rotor(disc). can i customize something?? anyomne know about rigging something up to fit the front of my kz200 caliper or do i need the stock one?? thanx. i also want to make it eventually into a cafe looking bike. can i just lower the front forks by sliding them up?? and what can i do to the two rear suspension shocks/springs?? i wanna lower the rear end to!! thanx guys and gals. if there is someone kind enough to just remove the two bolts on thier points cover on the cam and take a pic of where it is taht would be great!. eirther a kz900, kz250 or kz200.

On some models reassembly is possible in an incorrectly oriented position (such as having the points cam 180 degrees off). Because when it sparks its like 2 inches after the f mark, was wondering if it might also be possible in this case. But perhaps the KZ200 advancer and points cam fitment is indeed limited to only one correctly oriented position. Am uncertain why the parts diagram isn't more useful toward reassembly.

Am thinking the coil primary wiring is not polarity sensitive.

ok got it running but its hard to tell now if its exactly on the f mark. but i timed it as good as possbile. so it runs good. seized the other day due to not oil..forget... but ripped iot all apart to find some upper end bearing wear. said what the heck threw it all together with 2 quarts. fired it up runs good. no smoke. just some white msoke when i first started it up. now that its all good i have a question. when it is just sitting there with power on...i kill power to the coil the coil itself gets hot. when i leave kill switch on so engine is on the kill wire going to it is hot..????
