Turn Signal Problems
18 Apr 2008 22:12
I have a 76 KZ900 and the bike didnt have any turn signals on it when I bought it but now I am putting some aftermarket ones on. I have have them hooked up and they light up but don't blink on and off. Any ideas of what can cause this? I tried a different flasher and it still didn't correct the problem. Thanks!

if the new ones are lower resistance you might need an electronic flasher

I heard that too. You need to use the original type of bulb as it is within the specific range needed for the flashers to heat up properly and work correctly.
Lots of fun huh?
I got an LED tail-light bulb that I was not able to use for lack of voltage or whatever. By the time I had received advice on how to make it work, I had broken the damn thing.
Best of luck with this.

I have an 81 kz750h LTD and I have the original signals, and I am having the same problem as you, but it's only the front left signal that doesn't work. I have switched the front signals thinking it may be a bulb, but whichever one I have on the right side works, but the left signal refuses... Hopefully someone will have an idea that can help us both

If you have a decent auto parts store with anyone that knows what they are doing, go there and buy a "heavy duty flasher". These are made for trailer towing and flash regardless of load. Go to Napa or another decent place. Don't go to autozone, checkers, wal-mart or any of those Chinese crap joints or you'll never get a flasher that works.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Well I figured mine out. my turn signal wire had split, too bad it took 6 hours of prodding and disassembly to figure it out... but it's fixed now... good luck with yours jpakes53.
