Moving / replacing rear directionals

I wanted to put saddlebags on a '82 KZ550 but the rear lights are right where the bags need to go. Any suggestions on some that are further back or maybe even can mount on the rear light. How hard is it to do the wiring too?

If similar to Z1 and KZ900, wiring to
rear light and turn signals is readily
accessible, but may require extending
the wires to the signals (not a big deal).

Throw soft bags over the seat and go! :cheer:

Thanks for the pics - I especially like the first one with the factory lights just moved to a bracket held in place with the license plate.

I had a similar problem with my saddlebag frame setup. My avitar shows the way my frame used to interfer with my rear signals, My solution (which I don't have pics of yet) was to remove my existing turn signals, remove the posts and attach to my saddlebag frame with galvanized 1/2 inch conduit clamps on the aft part of the frame. I did have to extend my wires about a foot but that was no big deal. It works well but only if you have some kind of frame to attach to. Otherwise, mounting it to the brake lamp housing should be fine. As Patton wrote, I just attach my bags and go.

I pretty much did the same thing as Dale, except I used the stock lights.
