Coil Swap ?

Does anyone know if I can use the coils from my 79 1000 on my 77 650? I checked Kawasaki.com, and the parts #'s are different obviously. The other part to the ? is: if I can use them, will the swap make any difference in the spark?
The 79's have accel wires which I would rather have on the 650

As long as the '79 1000 had points ignition you can use the coils on your 650, if it has points as well.

The mounting holes on the coils may be different, so you will need to deal with mounting them.

I used later model coils as I switched to a kawi elec. ign.
The mounts were further apart than the 650 stock coils. I mounted one mount/bolt and used a large zip tie in place off the second mount/bolt, on each coil.
