83 750 twin orange spark

Hello, I'm having troubles with getting the screaming flaming Kawasaki of Death to run this year.
I checked the plugs this afternoon. Instead of the arc being the cool or bright blue color they are supposed to be they were blue switching over to a reddish orange color near the other end of the spark.
Does anyone have any idea what is causing this?
Also what is the correct gap width for the plugs.

Thanks.

Most plugs gap at about .032", plus or minus a few thousandths.
