Why don't you just go to a dealer with a measuring tape and start walking around. I used to do it all the time at the dealership I use to work for. That's how I figured out a Zx12 light works with the earlier Kz tails.

They might look at you crazy but once you explain what you are doing they tend to back off. Or if you can get to a cycle breakers its better yet since they'll likely have stuff from some of the older models.

Ask them to see if they can manage to read the manufacturer's name and part number off the box that the light comes in. Then you could check the maker's web site and see what size it is.
