KZ1100 electrical accessory leads was created by tjhiggin
Where are the electrical accessory leads physically located on a KZ1100? I'm going to use them to power my GPS and can't find them.

Much obliged...

I can't say for sure on the 1100, but generally, there is a pair of leads buried in the headlight rats-nest, and there should be a pair somewhere near where the seat meets the tank, or possibly near the battery.

Thank you. I have looked in both those places with no luck, but will look again.

I reckon that there should be a black & yellow lead which is pretty near the fuse box & battery. I have an A2 and I will have a look in daylight tomorrow.

You will find a black and yellow lead in the headlight.
If that doesn't work for you, splice into the red wire on either coil.

WARNING! THE BLACK YELLOW LEAD IS USUALLY THE GROUND ON KAW BIKES..

I'd say check in the headlight again? I've never probed mine for + or - but there is a bunch of empty leads in there. Why did the factory do that?

I think it was so one harness would work on models going to different countries. Some countries had the turn signals in different places, etc.

Thanks everyone for the help. Today I was able to find the leads under the seat and get the power outlet wired up. The GPS works great on the bike and I confirmed that I'm able to operate it through the clear plastic window of the tank bag.
