performance ignition 101 was created by Kingcobra
ok so I have a 78 KZ650B ... my ignition consists of accel 3 ohm coils, accel 8.8 wires, dyna s ignition, and NGK B7ES plugs with the plug gap set at .035 per accel's instructions. is there anything else I need to change for the best possible performance from my ignition system?

Once it's running, just make sure you have full battery voltage to the coils, and verify the timing with a light to make sure the advance is up to spec. As the advance springs wear, the motor may experience a little knocking if it advances too quickly. Also make sure the advance mechanism is lubed and operating correctly.
