Advice for stubborn stator? Special tool?

Got a really stuborn stator on my Z1, I got lucky with the last two- this one is REALLY stubborn, don't have the special tool, and I don't have a gear puller that will get around the stator.

Any tips or suggestions- oh yeah, the stator is hosed- so I don't have to worry about damaging it! B)

A flywheel puller is really the best way to get them off. What I do though if I'm working on someone's bike and there is no flywheel puller around is I just take a hammer and pry behind it a little bit then spin it and pry again. I just keep repeating that usually increasing the force every couple prys. You just have to be careful not to pry too hard or you could bend the crank or break something.

If the stator is well and truly fubared, a short application of the heat wrench helps loosen things up ...

Got one of mine off a while back, with a dent-puller that I borrowed from a friends body-shop...worked like a charm.;)
