im trying to remember if the 80mph speedos that came off bikes like 79-80 1000 also had kph marks on them,would something like that work for a temp fix?the hole gauge should bolt in place;)

Does the gauge need to show the KPH that your bike is capable of, or simply must have an indicated KPH range as reference for when/if you might be pulled over for speeding, etc?

If the latter, some of the speedos from the earlier KZ650's ('77~'79) had MPH (only shows 140MPH though) in white on the outer edge, and KPH in blue closer to the center of the gauge and should bolt right up and look the same as your old speedo does.
For that matter there were actually quite a few other KZ models that had a similar setup, albeit with only an indicated top speed shown of 80 (or is it 85?)MPH.
