Turn Signal Torsion Spring
06 Jan 2008 14:32
Hey guys, the torsion spring in the left hand control unit that re-centers the turn signal switch has worn out. I need a new or newer one.
Does anyone know where the heck I can get a replacement? I've been having a tough time trying to find someplace that sells them either used or new.

I would consider buying a used switch from eBay and using whatever parts you need. Just make sure the parts you need are OK (you'd have to ask the seller).
I've seen misc parts for the switches on eBay (starter button, light switch repair kit, etc...) but not a turn signal spring. If it's a common problem you'd think someone would make a repair part. You can always check with Jeff at Z1 enterprises. They usually either have what you need or can get it. Check them out at www.z1enterprises.com/
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

Well, I ordered some industrial safety pins from mcmaster. I hope to be able to bend them into the shape I need. The other option is, like you said, get an old switch. I just haven't wanted to spend a lot on it and $20 is overkill for just needing a spring. Kawasaki has to get them from somewhere...
