I rode my SR650 through the rain one night and it was sputtering and popping throgh the exhaust when I was at like 70 mph. So what I did was slow down so the heat of the engine would take over and dry the engine faster to prevent the spark plugs from drowning.

1979 KZ SR650, stock candy persimmon red and crossover pipes
1981 KZ 1000LTD with non stock and more comfortable handle bars and 4 into one V&H

When you have the time, grease as many spade and bullet connections, inside and outside any cases, that you can.
Use silicone dielectric grease. 3M or you can find a tube of Permatex in any auto store. 'Avoids second guessing. I've had to ride in the rain up here in the north east perhaps more than I'd like to. It's extra insurance that has paid off. Especially with some British and Italian machines that I have and still own.

Cheers people, turned out to be one of the ignition coils firing 1&4. $60 here in the Uk and now running like a demon.
