ignition swap was created by jordan
I have just put an 82 kz750 motor in a 78 kz650 frame. I removed the electronic ignition that came on the motor, and hooked up the points ignition, from the 78 frame. I believe the points ignition is bad, and would like to swap in the 82 electronic ignition. How do I do this swap, there are 3 wires coming off the points ignition, but 4 wires coming off the electronic ignition. Advice and help would be greatly appreciated, I want to get this bike on the road ASAP!!!!!

The 4 wires from the 750 (I'm assuming 4 cylinder) ignition go to an ignitor box which in turn is wired to the coils.
Sounds like you dont have the Igniter.
