its the original paint Ron,it helps the coils relax!What's up with all these bad coils. This is like the 20th plea for coils this week it seems like. I have yet to replace a coil in my life so far.

Well when you have fire at the points and fire going into the coil and no fire coming out to the plugs... Seems to me a bad coil... May be wrong but 1 and 4 have fire and 2 and 3 don't so if there is fire everywhere but coming out of coil to the plugs seems like a coil issue. The bike has set for 24 years may have something to do with it.
OR maybe something else besides a bad coil, such as possible:
bad spark plugs;
faulty plug wires;
bad plug wire to plug cap connection;
faulty plug cap;
dirty or damaged points;
point gap maladjusted;
bad capacitor (condenser);
wire from coil to points broken or shorted;
Good Hunting!
