$#@!!! I just got the bike running good and I lost power to the ignition and electric start.. Lights still work.. How much voltage should be going to coils? 12v? I might jump them just to see that I didn't destroy them.. It is possible one of them grounded. I saw the R/W on the 2-3 coil looks like it hit the bolt it was next to.. I blew a couple of fuses and then.... What happend? I WANT MY BIKE TO WORK!!! Does it sould like the kill switch shorted or the starter button? OHHHH, so close..

How are the fuses now,Kevin?
Any area of the fusebox that got melted?(where the fuses sit in place)
Have You cleaned the contacts for the fuses?
Starting there...lets narrow this down if We can...

No sign of melted wires.. The 20amp fuse blew a couple of times and now I have no juice to the coils and the starter button won't work.. All lights are on when the key is in the "on" position. I haven't taken the headlight off yet to see if I'm getting power in or out of the ignition.. A couple of times today the starter button wouldn't work and then the fuse blew 2-3x just when the key was on.. I went for a ride, about 10 blocks or so and she went dead.. I had to walk her home.. I have juice coming out of the 20amp fuse.. From the wiring diagram it looks like the line goes from the fuse box straight to the ignition switch and then to the kill switch and then to the coils.. I think my 2-3 coil was grounding but I'm not sure of that.. i can't smell any wires burning.. I'm hoping the ignition switch fried.. because needed one anyway. Any suggestions on what and where to check first? #1.. Juice going in or out of ignition, #2.. Juice going in and out of kill switch?

Well...if You think there's a chance that there's a wire that's grounding out, then I would pull the tank for sure, get in there and look through those wires,Bud.

are the wires still inside the bars, if so pull them out and reroute them outside, I had tons of problems until I did that to mine, had a lot of chafed wires

Well, I fixed it.. It was the kill switch.. It has 2 contacts in there.. One Yellow and one Yellow w/ Red.. When I was blowing the fuses it melted the plastic a bit under the Yellow wire, kind of covering it.. I scraped it out and now it's all good...
