Newer Replacement Handlber Switches?

I doubt any newer bike's switches are a direct swap for a kz650 CSR, but are any candidates better than others? The previous owner was an idot and went bat shit with black rattlecan paint on the windjammer fairing origianlly on my bike. There is overspray on everything, engine, exhaust, switches, etc, etc. And then decided to strip out all the screws holding the throttle side on. Just to get it off I had to get creative with a dremel.

I'd also like to update the look of the switches a bit. They are just ratty and old looking. I was thinking something from a newer sportbike. Any ideas?

If it fits the handlebar and you can adapt the wiring it should work. All they are is a different looking switch.

Here are some links to aftermarket stuff.

You can't buy direct but you can find them on eBay always from a big outfit. They are on my Kz1000 cafe bike.

I was looking at these. I know the lh side k&s switches will work, but what did you use for the rh side? I saw they have one part #12-0200. Did you use this? And how does the throttle tube/cable fit?

I was thinking about using part #12-0030 far the lh side. Is this what you used?

I have pn #12-0030 on my 1000 and used a Zx-12 RH switch (which is the same thing as pn #12-0203) along with a Magura throttle housing for the right side.

Dang Mark. Nice job on the switches. I thought about doing that, but I didn't think I could do a good enough job on the lettering. I just threw in the towell and ordered a few new ones from Jeff at z1 . Not 100% exact replicas but pretty close.

Thanks, it's not that hard. Everything comes apart and the letters are recessed. I did the bodies in lacquer and the letters in enamel. Let the bodies dry a couple days so their good and dry then flood the recesses with enamel the right away wipe off the extra paint with a smooth rag with some paint thinner on it. I used a old t-shirt and just a little thinner. Wipe softly so you don't dig it out of the recesses. I used Testors model paint.
