Replacement Keys

I had some free time at work today, so I figured I would try to cut a new ignition key for the 650. We carry Ilco key blanks at the hardware, I think everyone that cuts keys does.
I found a blank that the total width of the key and the stepped edges match the key to the bike. It is an Ilco DC3 blank. It is about an inch longer though. If you can get your local cutter to do it they can cut a new key for you. All they have to do it mount both keys in the machine up to the shoulder and when they cut the key on both sides it will cut the key to the right length, you will just have more of the key sticking out of the lock.
For less than two bucks it works fine.

Milkman, Most Kaw dealerships carry a blank that the hardware store usually won't carry. I will try and get that number... the blank they use is double sided and the same size key as the OEM. I also know you can use an ILCO X104 blank as it is the correct length and double sided but that isn't the one that the dealers will carry.
