crap starter button was created by greatbeefalo
Okay, Im all set to start my bike now, have a new solenoid in place, everything is ready to rock...but the starter button still wont work. I need to replace the whole right control cluster but I can find a replacement SO is there a way to start the bike without the start button? Everything else is in place--key in the ignition, clutch depressed, yadda yadda...any ideas?

If the bike is stock it is right beside the throttle,,, on top of right switch box, round button with an arrow through it,,, off on off positions.

You don't have an interlock for the side stand that might be not working, do you?
Anyway, pull the left side cover. The solenoid is circular, and should have two heavy leads and a smaller lead. Jump out the heavy lead the goes to the battery and the smaller lead.
Make sure the bike is in neutral when you do this.
Or use your kickstarter. That bypasses a bad starter button, too.
:woohoo:

You might try grabbing the starter button and rotating 180 degrees. My button was having trouble making contact. So I turned the button and voila! It works fine now.
