Timing adjustment was created by Gordo1
Hi,
I have an 1983 KZ 440 with electronic ignition. The bike lacks power and backfires on both cylinders. I have more or less ruled out carb problems. Can anyone give me tips on how to check and adjust the timing?
Thanks

There is no adjustment. although you could slot the pick up mounting to get some adjustment, you would be wasting your time.
To check the ignition timing just hook up a timing light to either cylinder and point it at the timing advancer. You can see the F mark and the pointer pretty easily.
Manual and tons of info available at www.kz400.com .
