Took my bike out tonight after dark, and noticed that with the turn signals off, the right turn signal indicator light is glowing dimly. So dim, that I didn't notice it in daylight.

Does this mean there is a short somewhere? Bad ground?

Where do I start to diagnose?

Thx.

I assume this is with the lights on. Somehow you are getting voltage back into the turn signal. The most obvious source would be the parking lights. If your turn signals also function as parking lights I would check the turn signals and make sure the blub is correct for the socket and or installed correctly. Can you turn the lights off on your bike? If so try turning the lights off and see if the light goes out. That will confirm the source is in the light circuit at least.

Okay, I had some time to look at this some more.

Here's what I noticed. My right front turn signal has two wires coming into the headlight bucket--green and blue. The blue wire connects to the blue wire in the bucket. The green wire connects to a grayish wire.

When I disconnect the green from the gray, the right indicator light stops glowing.

Any ideas on where to go next?

Does the indicator light go out if you unplug the blue wire from the blinker?

Thanks for the suggestions, guys.

I got out my ohm meter and found there was continuity to ground on the gray wire. I followed it back and found a short in the right tail light stem. Fixed that, and the "glow" is gone. :cheer:
