i put in a halogen headlight, a new fuse box, and did the coil mod this last week. everything seemed great, then a couple days ago i was riding and noticed that my headlight wasnt on. checked the fuse and it was fine. ive got power there, just not at light. so i hooked it up so that the high and low beam are on at the same time. its too bright and i think it may be too much for my charging system. i tried to start it today and she wouldnt fire. she tried but just couldnt get running. so the battery got weak and i put the charger on. tried again later, same thing. is it possible that the draw form the headlight set up is taking away from spark power to fire up?

I'm not understanding what you did, and I don't know if I would have rigged it up to have both lights on at the same time. Did you first check for power at the headlight switch? Did you rewire your lights to stay on ALL the time now, bypassing the switch?

As for not starting, check your relay connections again, make sure the coils are getting 12 volts. Charge the battery up and once it's running check the voltage across the battery terminals, at idle you should see about 12.5v, rev it to 4000 and you should get 14.0-14.5v.
