Dyna S ok with stock coils?

I ordered a Dyna S electronic ignition for my 74 Z1 and have read that a lot of others replaced their coils with Dyna's at the same time. Will the electronic ignition work with the stock coils or do I need to upgrade them?
Thanks.

Just for info, all my coils are original, even 167,000 mile KZ650. Maybe I'm just lucky?
If you're not getting rained on, then you are definitely lucky.
Actually the coils last a long time if they stay dry. If you ride a lot through heavy rain, then the tiny cracks in the coils absorb moisture.
I had two coils that worked great. They even made it through a heavy rain storm while I was on an expressway. But then they both failed within 50 miles of each other a few hours after the rain. I was stuck in the middle of nowhere on a Sunday.

I did a valve job and 1st overbore at about 35,000 then rode all the way to 166,000 without a rebuild. Had to do very little work, 1 camchain, the cam sprockets, lots of oil leaks from orings hardening ect. That thing just would not die. It was kind of just more or less for fun and bragging rights to see how far that bike would go. I surpassed the 100,000 mile mark in 1989 and friends were quite amazed it ran that far. It was burning about a quart of oil every 200-300 miles at the end and the primary chain was getting extremely noisey. Last time I went to change oil, oil would not drain, it was all sludge. Engine still ran! I bought another KZ650 with 15,000 miles and swapped in that engine, but my old worn out engine still ran better than this one believe it or not. More or less retired now and I ride my more beat up 1977 with 58,000 on it. No rebuild on it yet. It might be better than the first one. Kawasaki put this picture in one of their good times magazines a few years ago. This was right before the old engine was retired.
