is there a different speedo for my kz?

I have a 82 KZ1100a1 with the 80mph speedo. IS there a plug and play speedo that will swap in with a higher MPH on it?

Check ebay. Look under kz1000, kz750, kz650. I think all of those fit, thoug I'm not positive.

I don't think anything else will fit. Looking at my newly purchased CD, it appears your style of speedo was used on 1981-82 KZ1000 and KZ1100 all of which had a 85mph speedometer. In 1983 they went to a different style instruments that go to 160 mph but won't fit on your earlier model. So I think you are stuck. Very unusual speedometer arrangement in 1981 and 1982. Horrifically expensive parts.

Yep as Ron said, pretty weird bunch of speedos. I just bought a new one from steeles ya know Ron? It was used. And I hook this thing up and I think the speedo is like 10 or 20 miles slow, but when I look at the km part it seems to be showing what the mph feels like seeing that there is no way that I can be on like 8000rpm on first and only at 15mph. ven my 650 hits 25 at 6000 rpm.
