The one I just bought plugged right in. There was some discussion as to the stock wiring being heavy enough for the added current draw but so far it seems fine.

been running one of those brite white bulbs in mine for quite some time, my only worry is that it cant take the extra vibration that a bike has

As long as You're not using a high wattage bulb(95/100) and stick to the normal(legal)H-4 55/60...You should have no problems.

I use the 55/60w H4 bulbs, and there are different numbers than H4 that use the same 3 blade connector, like maybe 9003 or 9004?? Plus add the Xenon and other gases and there are a few of them.

What I have found is that the 9003/4 and other fancy bulbs don't last as long as a real H4 bulb, which is made (and labeled) for offroad use and handles the vibes better on a bike.

Interesting. Maybe I'll be a little more selective next time, after seeing this info. Twice in the past I put in off the shelf Halogens from auto stores and they both died an early death. One just lost highbeam and the other was totally roasted. Actually I'm sure that I tried to get similar current draw on at least one, dunno, can't remember. Anyway, I dought that I got more than a month out of either with my 650. But man when they work, what a difference !
