77 KZ1000 electrical advice

Bike misfires in damp conditions, or when first started. Contact points appear to be good and the carbs are clean. Has the typical sooty plug problem with stock coils and wires. Where should I start? Is there a large improvement going to Accell coils and wires? I want to keep the contact points for another year....electronic ignition is not in the budget this yearB) Should I just do the coil power up mod that WG talks about? Thanks for the help....greatly appreciated, especially since I am a newbie to the site!

Yes the new coils and wires will help, as will the coil power mod, when you can afford it put the dyna ignition on as well...

I done all of that to my 77 1000 and it made a world of difference...
