Hey guys, I have a 78 KZ750 twin that I'm working on getting functional and I'm trying to find a battery for it. Does anyone know of where I might be able to get a gel cell battery. Or just a suggestion on the best place to get a battery for this thing. Almost every place that I have looked online so far has all of the KZ's listed except mine (damned bastard child).

If you're looking for it by the model of the bike you probably won't find a battery for it. I can't even find a manual for a 750 Twin..... Try this:

Batteries have a code system that specify where the terminals are, how many amps, which lug is positive/negative, what type of lug etc. If you know the amps needed on your bike, found in a manual or wiring diagram maybe, and what side has the positive terminal you are halfway home. You need the measurements of your battery box so the new battery will fit, too.

Once you have that info it will be easier to find batteries on a number of sites.

beardking:

try www.denniskirk.com ...they list two batteries for a 750 twin (a generic battery and a more upscale Yuasa)

does it need to be 12v 12amp or can it go as low as 12v 7amps?

I've got a SLA battery at home, and would like to swap out my battery for it, because I think my battery has gone bad - just doesn't hold a charge anymore.

OKC_Kent, I could possibly help you with the manual. I have a PDF of the manual on my computer at home. The only problem (the same one I'm having with trying to help CruisingRam out) is finding a place to put it for download. It's about 32M (and that's after I optimized it), so emailing it won't really work.
