A question about battery Ah

I have a 750 CSR twin that needs a new battery. I happen to have a strong 12v 12Ah battery, however the batteries sold for the CSR are 12v 14Ah. Can I safely use the battery I have and simply give it a trickle charge more regularly, or should I buy the correct battery?

You can run any battery you like as long as it mounts somehow. The only difference would be the more Ah the battery has, the better for turning the starter over and starting the engine more reliably.
